SPECIAL PROGRAMS


Intergenerational Program

The Intergenerational Program is designed for “high to moderate functioning” individuals with early stage Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, individuals with physical impairments, or individuals who need support and socialization.

The program will provide mental and physical activities that are motivating and are cognitively stimulating.

Admission Criteria:Engagement

  • Ability to walk with staff assistance and/or use of assistive devices, e.g. walkers, wheelchairs

  • Verbally and physically non-combative

  • Ability to communicate verbally

  • Enjoys social interaction

Days: Monday-Friday
Times: 7:00am – 5:30pm
Location: Ocean View Facility
 

Friday Night Sun Downing Program

The Sun Downing Program is a Program for the frail elderly and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. The Program is designed to keep the individuals physically and mentally active during the sun downing hours. The Program provides exercises and special activities such as bingo, karaoke, and reminiscing time.

Personal care services are provided such as, a light shower/sponge bath, teeth cleaned, hair combed, and dressed ready for bed. A light supper and snacks are provided.Activities

Hours: 3:00pm – 8:30pm
Location: Kahului Facility
 

Saturday Respite Program

The Saturday Respite Program is a program designed to provide an adult day social, therapeutic program. The program provides respite for the families and caregivers while keeping the individual involved with mental, physical, and social activities.

Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Location: Kahului & Lahaina
 

Pikake Program

The Pikake Program is designed to provide adult day care services for clients who are frail and may have advanced Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. At this level activities are designed to provide comfort care with compassion, feeding and toileting.

 

 

 
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

 

  • Six Monthly Caregiver Support Groups throughout the island (Kahului, Wailuku, Upcountry, Lahaina, Kihei, and Hana)

  • Quarterly Caregiver Workshops in Kahului, Lahaina, and Hana

  • On-going support counseling and education
